Psalm 42:1-2a
I was 19 years old when I first read those words. Although I was not yet a Christian, I wept as I read them, and realized that the passionate longing they express was in fact the cry of my own heart. Not religion, not mere information about God, but encounter and intimacy with Him – this is what I was created for, and what I most desperately need.
That truth is the very root of Through the Gates Ministries. Our hearts yearn to touch and be touched by the living God, and to help others discover the wonder, the awesomeness, the beauty, the joy, the grace and the glory of the Father, through Jesus His Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
