“Your statutes have been my songs
in the house of my pilgrimage.”
Psalm 119: 54

I believe that the ministry of a psalmist is to convey truth through music. I have found that the music God gives me is as multifaceted as His truth. My "style" is largely classic rock 'n' roll (which I believe was always meant to be God's music, and not the devil's!), with elements of blues, jazz, classical, folk – even a touch of country now and then!

I've developed a bit of a reputation for writing parodies of classic rock and pop tunes. For instance, the Danny and the Juniors hit "At the Hop" inspired "On The Rock," and the Beatles' "I am the Walrus" became "I AM has Called Us," I call such songs "conversions" because while I retain the "personality" of the originals, I transform them by giving them a new meaning and purpose. (I tell people that I do to songs what God did to me!) You can get a taste of more of them in the Recordings section.

I also write a lot of original songs. Many of them, like "Falling Asleep in the Lap of Delilah," "Burnt P.H.L.E.S.C.H." or "(Everybody is) Potentially Saved" convey serious messages with a touch of humor. I have coined the term "edifitainment" for these lighthearted songs – because they are both edifying and entertaining!

Of course, not all my songs are funny. Some, like "Simeon's Song," have been born out of times of personal trial or pain. Like the Biblical psalmists, I try to express the whole spectrum of relationship with God – the glad and the sad, the good times and bad. Hmmm – sounds almost like a song, doesn't it?
